Inspired by the Brookings Institution mission of "quality, independence, impact" in public policy analysis, The Dynamo was founded at the University of Florida in 2009 . It has since been incorporated into the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network, and is partnered with the Bob Graham Center for Public Service. The dozens of policy reviews on world conflicts authored here and elsewhere by members of The Dynamo have received tens of thousand views, and consideration by state and national policy makers. One article, which tied U.S. foreign policy with Iran to economic compromises with China and Russia, was awarded 1st place in the documented research category of the 2010 Florida Collegiate Honors Council (FCHC) writing contest. The Dynamo's first, second, and following public forums have engaged community experts to educate the public on intelligent policy.

We are diverse – politically, professionally, culturally – united behind one mission: solve big problems. The Dynamo is collectively nonpartisan, aiming to inspire "new leaders for society that can work across partisan lines." Today’s members seek to impact the most significant problems facing local, state, national, and global communities. Contact uf@thedynamo.org for more information.
